more soap

A few month ago I made my own soap for the first time in my life and I really enjoyed it. In the last few weeks I tried out a few more recipes and did my own variations which I would like to share with you here.

Exfoliating Teatree Soap
250g Coconut Oil
250g Sunflower Oil
250g Olive Oil

200g Water
110g Caustic Soda (NaOH)

1/2Cup ground Oats
15ml Teatree Essential Oil

This is a very nice ’scratchy’ soap. I love to scrub my whole body when I’m having a shower.

Rose Soap
250g Coconut Oil
200g Olive Oil
150g Almond Oil
150g Macadamia Nut Oil

200g Water
109g Caustic Soda (NaOH)

15ml Rose Essential Oil

I made this soap for my mum. I only used the best ingredients I could find. The soap has a very smooth texture and a soft rose smell. (I would have loved more smell but I just couldn’t afford any more real rose essential oil. It’s just so expensive.)

Lavender Soap
195g Olive Oil
195g Sunflower Oil
160g Coconut Oil
100g Almond Oil
100g Macadamia Nut Oil

200g Water
105g Caustic Soda (NaOH)

1/2 Cup Lavender Buts
12ml Lavender Essential Oil

I love this soap! It’s has this great refreshing lavender scent and a really soft texture. The lavender buts make it look really pretty.

The making process is exactly the same as described in my ‘Making Soap’ post. All the ’special’ ingredients, like essential oil, oats and flower buts, I add right at the end before I fill the soap mix in the mould.
